The Horsemanship Challenge
Are you up for the challenge? The KC Summer Kick-off offers a unique class in which riders show in two separate rounds. Round 1 is with a horse they bring, then for the second class the horse is swap with another rider to perform Round 2 with a new horse! The class is judged on horsemanship skills, so get out there and ride! In past years we have had multiple sections for each division with a number of around 20 total competitors! Join the fun in either the W/T/C or Walk/Trot sections, do you have what it takes to be crowned the horsemanship challenge champion?
Our Horsemanship Award
The KC Summer Kick-off gives out the Howard Surland 'Judges Choice Award' every year in honor of the core values of the American Saddlebred. A competitor from throughout the shows duration, young or old, academy or advanced, is chosen by our judge to receive this award. The award winner is recognized in center ring by being presented with the Howard Surland memorial trophy.
Where are we?
The KC Summer Kick-off is located in Kansas City, Missouri. Hale arena, where our show is hosted, also host similar shows such as the UPHA American Royal and Centeral States. It is a wonderful facility in the heart of Kansas City! Catch a ride on your horse, and then after enjoy the many wonderful restaurants, entertainment, and events our Midwestern city has to offer!
